Active Workerbees

We are always looking to support our charity partners with ongoing resources and support to make sure young people feel comfortable in their environments. Our workerbee opportunities extend beyond our Haven homes.

A Property Industry Foundation collaboration: Help feed the homeless with FareShare

The FareShare kitchen uses surplus food from supermarkets, markets, farms and manufacturers to cook nutritious free meals for vulnerable people.

Meals are then distributed to frontline charities that support people in need, including homeless people, refugees, women escaping family violence, disabled and elderly.

  • A 3-hour shift that makes around 1000 nutritious meals for Victorian families and individuals in need.
  • Teams of 8 or 16.
  • Volunteers will receive a briefing on arrival before they head into the kitchen.
  • Working together as a team and led by a chef they will undertake a variety of tasks.

A Property Industry Foundation Collaboration: Help feed the homeless at the Early Bird Café

Early Bird Café workerbees support the Early Bird Café in Sydney with food and meal prep support for those in need. Operating out of St Stephen’s Uniting Church in the city, the café serves around 100 homeless people 5 days a week.

From making bacon and egg sandwiches, prepping porridge, packaging food for distribution, handing out coffee or fruit and more, the time invested in helping the less fortunate will put food in bellies and also contribute to Haven House projects to put roofs over heads.

  • A 2.5 hour shift between 6am and 8.30am.
  • Teams of 6.
  • Volunteers will receive a short briefing.
  • Working together you will ensure that 50+ rough sleepers and vulnerable people get a hearty breakfast with a smile.
