A Construction Rock off for homeless youth
After some socially distanced time away, Construction Rocks made its triumphant return on a night filled with talent, heartfelt support and most of all rock.
Nine bands filled with property and construction industry supporters battled it out in a rock-off for the ages, with all money raised from ticket sales, raffle tickets and the fundraising pages of each band going towards building more bedrooms for homeless youth in New South Wales.
The Xavier Knights
The Xavier Knights kicked off the rocking with a passionate set with a mix of solo and group vocals that reminded the night of what the Construction Rocks experience is about.

Sounds like a plan
Sounds like a plan followed up the opening band by throwing down the classic rock gauntlet, with hits from AC/DC, Foo Fighters, Pearl Jam and Motorhead, the clear plan of attack was to get the crowd going with some amazing hits.
Lead singer Adam also gave a great demonstration of how to open a beer can when your hands are full between guitar play and lead vocals.

The Fox Hat
The Fox Hat put the night on cruise control with rock hits to make you want to wave your phone lights in the air. Showing that sometimes all you need to rock is two guys behind guitars with a harmonious set of vocals.

The WindJammers
The Windjammers walked onto the stage and introduced themselves saying they like to rock before diving straight into their set. An all-out blitz of rock that pulled great hits the crowd surely have saved on playlists to this day.

Dogsbody
Dogsbody got the crowd amped with power ballads that needed nothing but emotion to sing along with. Lead singer Mike put on a performance that would put a smile on Freddie Mercury’s face.

Yeah, Nah, Yeah
Reigning champs Yeah, Nah, Yeah put on a performance that reminded everyone why they are a stand-out group. With strong vocals and a fast-paced in sync band, Yeah, Nah, Yeah took the roof off with a set that made them early favourites.

Higher Ground
Higher Ground kept the excitement high with an incredibly competitive set. Strong male vocals, engaging band performances and gold song selection only added to the struggle of deciding a champion form the competitive sets that already performed.

On Hourly Rates
With a set filled with a mix of modern classics and powerful vocal performances, On Hourly Rates met the challenge that their set brought with performances that got the crowd cheering after each built anticipation of peaks from hits by Ed Sheeran and lady Gaga.

Earthquake, Wind & Fire
With a large band and big energy, Earthquake, Wind & Fire wrapped the night with songs that got the crowd playing backup vocals and backup dancers. The gang brought a quality closing performance that had the crowd literally begging for more.

After some incredibly hard deliberation, judges Kate Mills (CEO of the Property Industry Foundation) and Mark Owen (Director of Cranfield group) narrowly awarded Higher Ground Construction Rocks 2022 champions!
