”Here in Australia, I'm acutely aware of the growing homelessness crisis, as more and more 'tent cities' emerge in public places. We need to do better.

Why did you want to join the Board of Advisors in QLD?
We’ve always been very interested in the impact that we can make in the community and the contribution we can foster through our platform. It was an obvious and logical fit to become more involved through the board.
How will your skills and experience assist the Board in decision making and planning?
I think it’s a combination of property industry knowledge, a deep commitment to the community and a flair for creative thinking and entrepreneurialism that will assist me in making a unique contribution to the board. I hope to leverage my experience, alongside The Urban Developer network, to build the profile of the Foundation, raise essential funds and deliver housing outcomes for those in need.
What have been your previous interactions with the Foundation?
I’ve had the pleasure of attending numerous events hosted by the Foundation, including the Charity Regatta in Brisbane and Sydney, several industry seminars, fundraisers and cocktail events. The Charity Regattas and Tour de PIF events have always been a hit, however I can’t wait for the Trivia Night on 22 August in Brisbane that’s being hosted in partnership with The Urban Developer.
What do you think is so important about the work the Foundation does?
Beyond the construction of essential housing, there is power in the education and awareness that the Foundation shares with the industry.
I’ve been extremely fortunate to have always had a roof over my head. However, I have seen the worst of poverty globally and visited slums in India, the Philippines and Indonesia alongside another charity I’m involved with, Opportunity International. Here in Australia, I’m acutely aware of the growing homelessness crisis, as more and more ‘tent cities’ emerge in public places. We need to do better.
What are your passions outside work?
Let me confess, I’m a cricket tragic. It’s a fascinating game that draws me deeper and deeper into it as time goes by. Besides cricket, I’m equally obsessed with my family, notably my wife and three daughters, but also my extended family and friends. My other passions include sport, sport, sport, technology, media and artificial intelligence, geopolitics and global affairs, property (obviously!), food, cooking and travel.
Anything else you’d like to add?
Let’s get on with the job of ending homelessness!
