From flat pack assembly to garden makeovers, pantry restocking and more … our amazing Queensland supporters participated in several Spring working bees for our Charity Partners. Together, our community continues to make a difference in the lives of homeless and at-risk young people.

BYS with Urbis, Rider Levett Bucknall & ISPT

On 30 October, team members from ISPT, Rider Levett Bucknall, and Urbis joined forces for an inspiring and productive working bee to set up Brisbane Youth Service (BYS) new Youth Support Centre in Fortitude Valley. BYS support Queensland’s homeless and vulnerable young people in accessing secure accommodation, employment and education opportunities.

Volunteers contributed furniture and decor, assembled flat packs, and restocked the pantry; finishing touches that make the centre feel welcoming and safe for young people accessing the service. “We are incredibly grateful for the generous support from the Property Industry Foundation and their partners ISPT, Rider Levett Bucknall, and Urbis, who came together at the recent working bee to donate time, resources, and hands-on effort,” said Laura Watson, Head of Fundraising at Brisbane Youth Service. “Their contributions—from providing and assembling new furniture and decor to stocking essentials packs and pantry items—have helped transform our new Youth Support Centre into a warm, welcoming space. Seeing our community rally together in this way is truly inspiring and a testament to the positive, empowering environment we’re building for the young people Brisbane Youth Service supports.”

“Our new Youth Support Centre at 518 Brunswick Street opened its doors to young people on 4 November, marking an exciting new chapter for Brisbane Youth Service. Thanks to the support of dedicated partners like the Property Industry Foundation, we’ve transformed this space into a welcoming environment, equipped to provide more holistic services all under one roof,” said Pam Barker, CEO of Brisbane Youth Service. “From furniture and decor to flat-pack assembly and pantry restocking, the Property Industry Foundation’s contributions have helped create a truly supportive space where young people can access the care and resources they need.”

Volunteers enjoyed the hands-on work and positive atmosphere on the day. “This was a wonderful opportunity for our team and industry to give back,” said Bianca Barrett, Property Investment Manager at ISPT. “Thanks Property Industry Foundation for organising us and all the best to Brisbane Youth Service for your new Centre.”

BABI Youth & Family Service with Lendlease Community Day

On 29 Oct, The Lendlease team joined a working bee in support of BABI Youth & Family Service in Wynnum, Queensland. With over 30 dedicated staff pitching in at the working bee, Lendlease transformed the outdoor areas of two properties. The teams donned gardening gloves and picked up garden tools to clear and clean patios, garden beds and more. “Young people in our shared accommodation spaces have a great new communal area to come together to be able to connect with each other and be a community,” said Shaun Staunton, CEO at BABI Youth & Family Service.

“It was an absolute pleasure working with the Property Industry Foundation on these homes for BABI Youth & Family Service,” said Helen Lodge, Executive Assistant at Lendlease. “We’re so glad we can make a difference where it is needed.”

“A huge thank you to the Lendlease team for an amazing working bee at BABI Youth & Family Service,” said Rebecca Field, Property Industry Foundation QLD Events and Engagement Manager. “The transformation of not only one property, but two, has been incredible. The before and after pictures show just how much impact a dedicated group can have on creating welcoming, supportive spaces for young people in need.”

Frasers Property Group with BABI Youth & Family Services

On 30 August, the hardworking team from Frasers Property Group joined a working bee at BABI Youth & Family Service – turning the undercover patio and garden from drab to fab. “For many of these young people, the time and energy Frasers Property Group have given may be the first time that someone else has genuinely focused on their needs,” said Shaun Staunton, CEO at BABI Youth & Family Service. “What may be a day for someone giving their time, for a young person can be a statement of how much they matter, which can stay with them for a long time to come.”

“Frasers Property Group efforts have made a massive impact on the BABI community, and we are so grateful for your dedication and hard work,” said Property Industry Foundation’s QLD State Manager Antoinette Rusby-Perera. “Together, we are building stronger communities and brighter futures for young people.”

A special shout out to Richard and the team from Matrix Commercial Interiors who provided extra support and supplies for the day.
