On a beautiful Autumn evening, the Property Industry Foundation’s Future Leaders Committee hosted a buzzy networking drinks night on the rooftop at Morris House in Melbourne.

As the sun set over the CBD, around 50 young professionals across the property and construction industries connected to find out more about the Foundation’s projects and upcoming fundraising events – particularly Steps for Homeless Youth on 9 May at Albert Park Lake.

“We invited a group of industry peers to have a drink and a chat about the Foundation and the upcoming Steps for Homeless Youth fitness event,” say committee Co-Chairs Jon Barkla and Sami Hassoun. “There was a good turnout with plenty of new faces. Attendees were encouraged to “donate a pint for PIF” using the QR codes set up on each table, register for Steps, and find out more about the Foundation.”

The low-key night was a chance to network and chat about the great work the Foundation is doing to provide more support and safe homes for youth in need. “It’s important for us to raise awareness for the Foundation in a more casual and informal setting which is low cost and easy to attend,” say Sami and Jon. “The intent of the networking event was bringing awareness to our cause in a more casual and organic way … to help our industry colleagues get to know each other and to spread the word about the upcoming Steps event.”

Thanks to everyone who came out to support us with a relaxed drink after their workday  – look out for more Future Leader Committee Drinks events in the future!
