A Sydney sail that made a difference
The Charity Regatta was back in full force in Sydney this year with nearly 50 yachts sailing day for homeless youth.
After weeks of grey sky and heavy rain, we were treated to nothing but sun and blue sky! Sailing teams took over the waterside at the Cruising Yacht Club of Australia, as our wonderful property industry partners came together to race or relax on the water in support of building Haven Homes for homeless youth.
An unbeatable Sydney sailing experience
Our supporters then took to the seas as 47 yachts spilled out and sailed over a fantastic Sydney Harbour backdrop. It was a great balance between the yachts hanging their feet over the side relaxing and the yachts that were hanging sideways trying to out sail one another.
An Afterparty with a French kick
Our sailors returned to land to a French riviera party filled with striped shirts, wicker hats and fine cuisine.
The Property industry Foundation truly enjoyed seeing all our supporters together again enjoying each other’s company over our great cause. Foundation CEO Kate Mills and Colliers CEO Malcom Tyson took the time to thank all our sailors for a lovely day. It then got serious as the winners for the races were announced.
Teams came up one by one and took the spoils over victory, shortly followed by the annual draw of the winner of the Bob Ell Cup.

The Sydney Charity Regatta was a beautiful return to the water to help change the lives of homeless young people doing it tough (especially in the last 2 years). A day on the harbour may not seem like it, but it actually plays a huge part in raising funds and make a tangible difference to young lives. This year with your fantastic support we have raised over $275,000 to go towards the Haven House Projects in NSW!
A huge thank you needs to go out to our principal partner Colliers, our advertising partner oOh! Media and our raffle prize partner Mariner Boating Holidays (congratulations to our raffle winner Kate Kelly!). Thank you to everyone that came down and enjoyed the day with us. We look forward to continuing to make the Sydney Charity Regatta bigger and better next year.
