Our inaugural Trivia Night on 22 August in Brisbane brought the industry together in a battle of brains to raise a grand total of $25,000 for homeless youth building projects.

Trivia teams from across the property and construction industry gathered at Felons Barrel Hall at Howard Smith Wharves to put their general knowledge to the test. 40 teams of eight from 28 companies battled it out over four rounds of tricky trivia questions, while enjoying a raucous beer hall atmosphere and friendly industry rivalry. To keep their brain power firing, trivia heads enjoyed Felon’s famous beers and delicious brewer’s bites including dumplings, crispy chicken wings, betel leaf wraps and Thai pork sausages.

A special trivia session was hosted by the event’s Principal Partner, The Urban Developer, with CEO Adam Di Marco putting three industry legends under the spotlight to test their knowledge of our industry and its world-class projects. Michael Rayner AM, Director, Blight Rayner, Alison Quinn, Non-Executive Director, and Peter Hyland Director, Urbis, showed off their construction and property expertise and were very good sports for an important cause.

The big winners on the night were smart cookies from KPMG who won the coveted title of 2024 Property Industry Foundation Trivia Champions. The event raised a grand total of over $25,000 from event tickets and fundraising on the night. All for youth homelessness. These funds go towards projects like Haven House Kingaroy and Haven House Logan. These Queensland projects give homeless youth and at-risk young mums a chance to rebuild their confidence and sense of worth in secure and supportive homes.

“By coming together for this trivia night, we’re not only raising funds but also building connections and solidarity within the industry in a casual and fun way,

We’re all about giving back to the community, especially when it comes to supporting youth homelessness. It’s such an important cause, and we couldn’t pass up the opportunity to get involved and help to make a tangible impact.”

Luke Fraser – Howard Smith Wharves CEO
