The music talents of the property and construction industry celebrated a decade of music greatness on Thursday 7th August at Oxford Art Factory and raised over $100,000 for homeless youth. See photos of how we rocked the night.

National Homelessness Week was a fitting stage to bring the industry together for homeless youth. It was a sellout as the industry rock and rolled together at the Foundation’s annual music fundraiser, Construction Rocks – the property and construction industry’s ultimate battle of the bands.

Seven incredible bands brought the energy and passion to the stage at Sydney’s Oxford Art Factory, wowing the crowd and their fans with their exceptional music talents – and swapping blue prints and high vis for leather pants and power tools for power chords to compete for the title of Best Band.

This year, our bands went out on a high note, raising over $100,000 to build homes for homeless youth with through our Haven Projects.

Best Band of the night was awarded to Off the CHarts from Charter Hall, who put on an electric performance with hits from Benson Boone and Pink Pony Club. People’s Choice went to crowd favourites AU-Rock on from Aurecon for their amazing set and stage passion.

Off the CHarts from Charter Hall also took out Top Fundraising band, raising a truly remarkable $66,767 in the fight against youth homelessness.

“What started over a decade ago as a fun, music-based networking event for industry “muso” types has evolved into one of the Foundation’s most successful annual events, raising over $100,000 this year alone,” says Victoria Ferguson, Chair of the Construction Rocks Committee.

“The quality of the bands is outstanding and we have even bigger hopes for the future … maybe one day we’ll take it all the way to the Hordern Pavilion!”
