The Property Industry Foundation welcomes Dalton Consulting Engineers (DCE) to a Platinum Partnership in Victoria. We talked to Drew Dalton, CEO & Director about their growing commitment to creating homes for at-risk youth.
How did this partnership between DCE and the Foundation come about?
Our support for the Property Industry Foundation has grown naturally over the years. We’ve actively participated in initiatives and as we saw the real impact of their work, our involvement deepened. At DCE, we believe in fostering strong communities, so partnering with an organisation dedicated to creating homes for at-risk youth was a perfect extension of that commitment. We’re proud to continue growing this partnership and making a tangible difference together.

Because safe, stable housing is life changing. A home is more than just a roof over your head—it’s security, opportunity and a fresh start. Supporting the Foundation allows us to play a small but meaningful part in helping young people turn their lives around. What Property Industry Foundation events and initiatives will DCE be involved in this year?
DCE is thrilled to be back supporting Steps for Homeless Youth in 2025 and hope for more hands-on volunteering this year! A real highlight for us was the recent Upton Road gardening working bee day for The Salvation Army—seeing our team roll up their sleeves, get their hands dirty, and contribute to a space that fosters growth and connection was incredibly rewarding. These moments remind us why supporting the Foundation is so important.

Why is it important for the industry to get involved in ending youth homelessness?
As an industry, we design and build places for people to thrive—so why not use that expertise to give young people a better future? Youth homelessness is a challenge we can all help tackle, and the more we work together, the bigger the impact we can make.
