Join us in celebrating 21 years of Hard Hat fundraising in 2024. Design your own community fundraiser to support homeless youth.
Hard Hat Day encourages the industry to create their own fundraiser for homeless youth – building team engagement through inspiring and fun activities either on-site or in the office. From delicious bake-offs, to enticing raffles, social morning teas or team trivia nights – the Hard Hat campaign runs throughout August. Hard Hat Day is marked on Friday 30 August, where the Foundation flag flies proudly on construction sites around the country.
One of Hard Hat’s longstanding supporters is the Dennis Family Corporation. Over the past 15 years, they have donated more than $250,000 towards the Foundation’s annual Hard Hat campaign. In 2024, company founder Bert Dennis and wife Dawn once again encouraged staff to dig deep in support of Hard Hat, raising a total of $8,500. The donation was accumulated from the combined proceeds of individual staff donations from their June pay, along with a recent morning tea at the company’s Armadale office and a separate contribution from the Dennis family.
“Getting behind the Property Industry Foundation’s major fundraising effort each year has become ingrained in the fabric of our organisation. Our people always respond so generously,” says Bert Dennis’s eldest daughter Adele Levinge. “The Foundation’s Haven House projects, particularly those in Whittlesea, South-East Melbourne and Shepparton are all wonderful initiatives and will make a meaningful difference to those in the community in great need of our assistance. Our company is proud to join others in our industry in helping to bring these life-changing projects to fruition.”
In 2023, the Hard Hat campaign raised 100K towards youth homelessness, in 2024 we are hoping to up the ante and raise 150K. This is your opportunity to put on activities and events your colleagues enjoy and turn them into fundraisers that help fund Haven Projects: building safe spaces and accommodation for homeless and at-risk youth.
