2025 has been a brilliant year of Hard Hat fundraising, with the property and construction industry going hard with on-site barbies, team breakfasts, delicious bake sales and donut drops, raffles, generous pay donations, and more.
Hard Hat Day encourages the industry to create their own fundraiser for homeless youth – building team engagement through inspiring and fun activities either on-site or in the office. Funds raised support homeless youth through the Foundation’s Haven House building projects. Here are some 2025 Hard Hat highlights!
”“This year’s result was a true team effort. From the generosity of our trade partners to the contributions from Scope’s own employees, everyone pitched in.”

Scope Projects
Scope Projects have raised over $31,000 through this year’s Hard Hat fundraising campaign – supporting homeless youth with a successful Hard Hat Breakfast, generous donations and a raffle. This impressive result tops last year’s fundraiser and demonstrates how community spirit and teamwork can move mountains.
“Hard Hat Day brings our industry together in a meaningful way. It’s a chance for us to step outside of day-to-day project delivery and focus on something bigger, supporting young people who are doing it tough,” said Sales and Operations Director Christina Paterson.
Trinity Fitout & Construction
Trinity Fitout & Construction’s Hard Hat Day barbecue on 10 October at their Edmund Rice College project site in West Wollongong was a smashing success – raising $12,550 for homeless youth. Trinity then matched each donation dollar-for-dollar, bringing the total amount to $25,100. “Hard Hat gives us the opportunity to support the Foundation and the vital work they do to end youth homelessness. But more than that, it brings our team, subcontractors and suppliers together for a shared purpose,” said Ben Lloyd, Managing Director
Dennis Family Supports Homeless Youth
Each year, the team at Dennis Family Corporation proudly supports the Property Industry Foundation’s Hard Hat campaign. This year, the company raised $4,000 to help provide safe housing and support for vulnerable and homeless youth across Australia. This total was achieved through staff donations from their June pay and a morning tea at the company’s Armadale office, along with a separate contribution from the Dennis family.
The Dennis Family Corporation has been a proud supporter of the Foundation’s Hard Hat Campaign since its inception and has cumulatively raised more than $250,000 towards this major initiative over 16 years. Brilliant effort!
John Holland and Laing O’Rourke
The amazing teams at John Holland and Laing O’Rourke hosted a fundraising BBQ breakfast at their Canterbury site on 26 September in support of Hard Hat Day and the Midjuburi Youth Resource Centre (MYRC) . Together, they raised $1,321 in support of homeless youth and the early invention work of the MYRC Team in Marrickville – a fantastic effort that will make a real difference to young people in need.
Steve Watson & Partners
It was a hole-in-one for Steve Watson & Partners in Brisbane, who created a memorable Hard Hat event – turning their office into a mini putt putt golf course, complete with custom holes winding through desks and hallways! Colleagues teed off for bragging rights, but more importantly, came together to raise much-needed funds for homeless youth.
Dexus
Over August and September, the Dexus team across Western Australia, Victoria, and New South Wales came together to support homeless youth through fun Hard Hat activations and flower auctions held across its buildings – raising an incredible $7,810! Dexus started their targeted Hard Hat campaign in the sweetest way – surprising customers at QV Melbourne with 330 orange-glazed doughnuts (on theme with the Foundation’s trademark colour!).
They partnered with their onsite retailer Joey’s Doughies to deliver the treats, raising awareness for youth homelessness and the Foundation’s purpose: to give every young Aussie a safe home.
BESIX Watpac
BESIX Watpac embraced the spirit of Hard Hat with a delicious bake sale at their Sydney Head Office on Monday 25 August – hosted by Property Industry Foundation Future Leaders Co-Chair Dean Christian. They followed up with a slice sale at their Pizza Truck Day at the Shellharbour Hospital Project site on Thursday 28 August. Their generosity and enthusiasm helped raise over $1,500 to help build brighter futures for young people experiencing homelessness.
Joss Group
The Joss Culture Committee selected Hard Hat Day as a key cause to support in 2025, leading to Hard Hat morning teas across all their offices and sites on 5 September to support homeless youth. Thanks to their incredible team effort, they raised $1,890 for the Property Industry Foundation – helping to build a brighter future for young people without a safe place to call home.
MPA and Rider Levett Bucknall
MPA and Rider Levett Bucknall (RLB) gathered at their construction site at 55 Collins Street Melbourne to host a Hard Hat Day in support of the Property Industry Foundation. “We’re extremely fortunate to be working with MPA on our 55 Collins Street fit out … We’re also proud to stand alongside MPA in supporting the Property Industry Foundation – partnering in events like Hard Hat Day helps raise awareness and make a real difference for homeless youth,” said RLB’s Managing Director, Tony Moleta.
Diadem
The amazing team at Diadem in Melbourne joined in the Hard Hat Day fun – braving the cold and rainy weather to fire up the BBQ and raise over $400 for vulnerable young people!
Gateway Capital
Despite wild weather, Gateway Capital brought the warmth to Urban Acres, Melbourne – Mount Waverley’s largest employment hub – for their first-ever Hard Hat Day event. With an impressive turnout and unstoppable spirit, they raised over $3,200 in support of homeless youth.
Lendlease
Lendlease hosted the Property Industry Foundation at a morning tea at their One Circular Quay project in Sydney to kick off a series of Hard Hat activities – raising nearly $5000 in total.
“It was a fantastic opportunity to talk about Lendlease’s legacy of impact on youth homelessness. In 2017, Lendlease built Haven House Dundas, in North-West Sydney, one of the Foundation’s largest renovation projects. This home, for Wesley Mission, provides 26 bedrooms for young people aged 15-25 transitioning out of the Out-of-Home Care system and live-in carers, and has supported 91 young people since 2019,” said Kate Mills, CEO, Property Industry Foundation.
