Friends Emma and Louisa rode 100km for the Buildcorp team in last year’s Sydney Tour de PIF and they’re revving up for another fantastic tour in 2024.

Louisa Tredinnick urged Emma Glendinning to compete in last year’s Sydney Tour de PIF to boost female numbers on the Buildcorp team. “I thought it was a great chance to contribute to an important cause, challenge myself and meet other like-minded people,” says Emma, a consultant at Deloitte. “Last year was my first 100km event and I was quite nervous at the start, but having Lou by my side, the support vehicle following and the atmosphere of many cyclists was a great way to complete my first Hundy! Don’t be afraid of doing something that challenges you!”

Louisa, a Project Delivery Manager, would love to see more female cyclists take up the challenge this year. “We definitely need more female representation. We were one of just three women in this category in 2023. The scenery and the buzz of the downhills was so much fun. The ride was a fantastic day out for those who love a challenge on the bike. There’s a safety car on hand to keep us all safe on the roads, they ensured every rider was accounted for. Emma and I enjoyed the views, the wild weather and especially the BBQ and networking at the end of the day.”

Being part of the Buildcorp team made the day even more memorable. “My company put together a team of 10 riders in 2023,” says Louisa. “We were lucky enough to be given a branded riding kit, which was amazing as we felt like a Tour de France team and could spot each other on the course and helped with networking afterwards.”

Both Emma and Louisa are looking forward to riding a new 100km course in Terrey Hills through the stunning Ku-ring-gai Chase national park. “Alongside my running I plan to do some social weekend rides with friends,” says Emma. “The Northern Beaches course is a favourite for me, I am looking forward to the scenery and being part of a big group completing the cycle.”

We’re looking for more females to take on the Tour de PIF challenge! Sign up for this year’s Sydney Tour de PIF on 13 September and choose from a wide range of walking, running and cycling events that will kick start your spring fitness.
