On 25 July, over 180 individuals and 22 teams went all out for homeless youth in Pedal for Homeless Youth 2024 – raising over $29,000 in support of our most vulnerable young people.
Brisbane’s Queen Street Mall roared to life with the sound of wheels whirring in this year’s successful Pedal for Homeless Youth event in Brisbane’s CBD. Riders from across the property and construction industry recorded as many kilometres as possible in 20 minutes on stationary bikes, an effective lunchtime workout!
“Pedal for Homeless Youth is an opportunity to do a fun, physical corporate challenge that easily accommodates varying levels of fitness,”
Max Barker, Tynans Senior Paraplanner
Team Tynans topped the group fundraising leaderboard for a second year in a row, raising an incredible $6,372 and smashing their 5.5K personal fundraising target. Lendlease Chain Gang and Built came in close behind with $4,475 and $4,322. “Pedal for Homeless Youth is an opportunity to do a fun, physical corporate challenge that easily accommodates varying levels of fitness,” said Max Barker, Tynans Senior Paraplanner, who also took out 6th place in the individual fundraising tally. “Our team are very grateful for the generosity of our sponsors in 2024.”
Fun competition and a fantastic cause brought the industry together, as they raised funds for homeless youth building projects in the QLD region, like Haven House Logan, transitional housing for vulnerable young mothers and their children at Yarrabilba, Logan and Haven House Kingaroy, transitional housing for at-risk young people in Queensland’s Kingaroy area.
This incredible collective effort was supported by our valued event’s sponsors. A huge thank you to our Major Sponsor, The GPT Group, Supporting Sponsors Aliro and the Saunders Havill Group, Fitness partner Tempo Tribe, Exclusive Advertising Partner oOh!Media and Exclusive Digital Media Partner The Urban Developer.
Thanks to everyone who signed up, fundraised and cycled on the day to make Pedal for Homeless Youth 2024 a huge success. Fundraising pages will be open until the end of next week for any last-minute donations to our cyclists and teams.
