As 2022 winds up, we’d like to thank the Property Council of Australia for their incredible support of the Foundation this year. Across the country, PCA raised awareness and funds for a variety of The Haven Project building developments, that will soon offer a safe living space to homeless and vulnerable young people.
New South Wales
PCA’s Christmas lunch raised over $45K towards Haven House South Dowling – an ambitious 19-bedroom facility which will be run by the Salvation Army.
As part of our volunteer program, PCA staff donned their garden gloves and gummies and joined our workerbee at Haven House Balgowlah earlier in the year. Run by the Burdekin Association, this two-bedroom home supports a young mum and her baby, who’ve made great use of the tidied-up outdoor area.
The team at PCA also hosted our CEO Kate Mills and our National Stakeholder Engagement Manager, Claudia Ferrari at a national Hard Hat morning tea – an opportunity to enjoy tea and treats and engage staff in a roundtable about youth homelessness.
Queensland
PCA’s Christmas lunch raised over $56k towards the Small Steps for Hannah Foundation to help furnish ‘Hannah’s Sanctuary’ – a new townhouse development in Queensland offering short-term accommodation for victims of family and domestic violence.
Victoria
In September, PCA’s Footy Lunch raffle brought in $52,000 in fundraising to go towards the building of Haven House Shepparton (The Nest); a partnership with Women’s Property Initiatives and The Bridge Youth Services to build 3 x two-bedroom homes where young mums can live independently with their child or children.
PCA’s Victorian Christmas lunch raised over $46k, with volunteers from ANZ, Stantec, MPA, Milliken, Mirvac and Development Victoria ensuring the 1200+ guests in attendance had a fun, festive time! Funds raised will go towards Haven House Shepparton and Haven House East Malvern, a refurbishment and extension of a home for the Young Women’s Freedom Project, run by The Lighthouse Foundation and dedicated to supporting girls and young women who are fleeing early/forced marriage.
Thank you Property Council of Australia! We look forward to partnering again in 2023.
