After almost four years as Queensland Chair of Property Industry Foundation, Greg Clarke passes the baton onto CEO of Lancini Property Group and Laurence Lancini Constructions, Salvatore Guardala.
As previous Director of McGees Property for almost 40 years, Mr Clarke said he is thrilled about Sal’s appointment, as it reinforces the next generation of Queensland property executives in the Property Industry Foundation’s team.
“I’m a firm believer in giving the next generation of leaders the same opportunities I was afforded nearly 40 years ago. It’s appropriate to transition to these directors who will successfully guide the Foundation into the future and have a tangible impact on Queensland’s homeless young people,” Mr Clarke said.
“Sal’s experience in the industry and passion for reducing youth homelessness makes him an excellent successor and I’m confident he will help drive great change and awareness for our most vulnerable.”
Accomplished property leader with more than 17 years of industry experience and knowledge, Mr Guardala has held an Advisory Board position with the Property Industry Foundation since September 2021 after having affiliations with the charity for many years.
Speaking on his appointment, Mr Guardala said he is honoured to lead the Property Industry Foundation’s Queensland Board, supporting its long-term strategic direction and championing its agenda in creating tangible solutions.
“Youth homelessness is increasing nationally at an alarming rate and is expected to rise to critical levels as a result of rising living costs, but collectively, we can reduce the number of young homeless people in our community and provide opportunities that change lives,” Mr Guardala said.
“I’m passionate about everyone having a roof over their head, a safe environment and food daily. The Foundation has allowed me to make a meaningful contribution in supporting young people to rebuild their lives.
I look forward to supporting the Foundation with its initiatives that have real impact on homeless youths, particularly through The Haven Project.”
Aiming to increase the availability of accommodation for youth homelessness, the Foundation have distributed nearly $30 million to youth homelessness causes over 25 years.
The Foundation has been building and refurbishing homes for homeless young people since 1996 and aims to build 300 bedrooms for homeless youth by 2025.
