Lacing Up for Youth Homelessness
A team from Colliers Run Club will take on 21.1kms in the Melbourne Marathon to combat youth homelessness.
Colliers have assembled a team of seasoned runners and newbies to run the Melbourne Marathon on 15 October in support of homeless youth. Rose English, Hugh Ferrari, Jordan Wright, Fraser Pearce and Izabella Minas are hoping to raise $2,000 towards the Property Industry Foundation Haven Projects – building homes for at-risk young Australians. “Some of the team are very keen runners who have completed races – however for three of us, this is our first ever half marathon,” says Izabella. “The team have been training together as part of Colliers Run Club – where we run together as a team before work. We have a training program which we are all following to help us build to 21.1kms.”
Raising funds for homeless youth has given the team a tangible goal to work towards. “Colliers is proud to partner with the Property Industry Foundation and the team is keen to raise much-needed funds to help support homeless youth,” says Izabella. “Homelessness is an important issue which requires more attention from the industry – the property industry needs to work to achieve better outcomes surrounding housing affordability and youth homelessness by combining resources and expertise. We are keen to make a social impact together as a team, while raising awareness of the Foundation within the industry.”
