Our partners at The Killara Foundation have moved into a fantastic new office space in Melbourne’s buzzing Collins Street, thanks to support from Mirvac. The Killara Foundation assists Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people to gain sustainable employment through guidance, cultural understanding and housing.
“When Property Industry Foundation requested support for one of their partners, The Killara Foundation, Mirvac were only too happy to help,” says Andrew Borley, Asset Manager. “Mirvac is a developer of market leading office space, leasing this space is our day-to-day, so it was only fitting that we could provide office accommodation to a charity partner. 90 Collins Street had some availability so we were able to provide a short-term lease. Located in the east of the Melbourne CBD, this is a prime office location. Having an office located next to key transport hubs, important industry partners, and the best amenities Melbourne has to offer, will mean the Killara team can deliver better service and support to the people working through their programs.”
Kyle Vander Kuyp, Director, The Killara Foundation, says a larger office space was essential for the Foundation’s growing needs. “We’d been using a smaller office in Cremorne and realised we were about to outgrow it, even with the flexible arrangements our staff have. We needed something central, where we can easily connect with our participants. A space with a welcoming feel and a home base with enough room for us to keep growing too.”
The Killara Foundation will now be able to work as a full team and be part of the action in Melbourne’s CBD. “Everyone will come in and work from the new office, hold meetings and continue to pursue our goals as a tight team,” says Kyle. “It’s also located close to Parliament and the business community, who play a big part in terms of our funding and development.”
Kyle has nothing but praise for the work that Andrew and the Mirvac Property Development group did to secure the lease swiftly and efficiently. “Mirvac has been amazing. They quickly located two sites, and we agreed on this one. Within a very short space of time – less than two months – we’ve been able to relocate to this brilliant new home. Mirvac has provided really good support all the way through the process. Andrew Borley has been wonderful. And we are very appreciative of the Property Industry Foundation’s support to make this all possible.”
