It was a Wrap Night to remember as 60 of our industry supporters gathered in Brisbane on 20 March to package up over 120 essential toiletries packs for BABI Youth and Family Services, supporting homeless and at-risk young people in the Wynnum/Redlands region.
Hosted by Cox Architecture and led by our dynamic Queensland Future Leaders Committee, this special event was a chance for our property and construction supporters in Queensland to make a meaningful and tangible impact on young people doing it tough.
In partnership with BABI Youth and Family Services, the toiletries packs will make their way to vulnerable youth in the Wynnum/Redlands region. BABI offers supported accommodation for at risk youth, including young parents, along with a range of wraparound services focused on fostering family and community connections. Every item wrapped on the night brings greater health and hygiene, dignity, and a little extra hope to young people in desperate need of TLC.

“The assistance we received from the Wrap Night means so much for the young people that BABI Youth and Family Services supports in the Bayside,” says BABI CEO Shaun Staunton. “For a young person we are working with, the items that were packed and donated at the Wrap Night mean they have their own toiletries to start making their new accommodation a home. They’re also very useful as they prepare to re-enter education or start attending job interviews. It’s so rewarding to see the community come together to help young people that we know need the most support, and we are so grateful to the Property Industry Foundation and everyone else involved in this amazing night.”
“A huge thank you to our attendees at the Wrap Night,” says the Foundation’s QLD Event and Engagement Manager Rebecca Field. “Your generosity and teamwork will go a long way in helping young people in need.”
