ADCO has once again dominated the 30-Day Fitness Challenge – winning the title of best fundraising team for a third consecutive year and raising an impressive $17,545 towards supporting homeless youth. We spoke to Estimating Manager Andrew Fullard about the team’s incredible effort.

“The 30-Day Fitness Challenge connects people from all over the country, generates a bit of banter around the offices/sites and gives you a little boost knowing you are doing something positive for yourself and the community.”

Winners three years in a row! What’s ADCO’s winning ingredient?

ADCO is strongly aligned with the Property Industry Foundation and love to get behind their events and projects. We enjoy a high level of support from management across all states on the Foundation’s events and its terrific to see so many colleagues getting involved. Simple participation in numbers is the secret to the event.

What would you like to say to your supporters?

Thanks to all staff, family, friends and associated companies who have donated to a great cause through any of the ADCO participants. Every single dollar helps.

It was a close race with Team Renascent, did a bit of healthy competition spur ADCO’s team on?

There was some incredibly strong competition, and we congratulate Renascent on a stellar performance this year. It’s terrific to see another building company getting behind this event with gusto.

Any standouts from ADCO this year?

We had 50 people participate this year. Many were first timers, which is great. Hats off to Dean Israel who raised over $3,000 and ran 300km. A terrific effort. Other notable performances go to Ross Trethewy, a known prolific walker who achieved 507km in May, and Andrew Cosgrave, who rode 994km. Both finished on the podium in their respective disciplines.

What did ADCO enjoy most about the 2022 Challenge?

The Property Industry Foundation’s 30-Day Fitness Challenge is always a great team-bonding event. It connects people from all over the country, generates a bit of banter around the offices and sites, and gives you a little boost knowing you are doing something positive for yourself and the community. It’s terrific to see people who don’t regularly exercise, get out there and move their body for a whole month.

How did you celebrate your win?

I think everyone enjoyed a sleep in! Riding, walking or running on cold dark wet mornings gets hard for 30 days.

Will we see you at the start line next May?

We will be back bigger and better for 2023.
