Thank you for $34k in the PIF EOFY campaign

In PIF’s first EOFY campaign we are delighted to have raised $34k. The campaign – which ran across our website, social media and direct emails – was to support the PIF Houses we have built so far.

At the end of last year PIF had built 9 PIF Houses with a combined 85 bedrooms. These homes had given shelter to 314 young people over the year – some for one night and some for more than one year. Each room offers a young person a change to rebuild their lives.

PIF doesn’t operate these homes, we build for our charity partners. When Covid-19 began we reached out to those partners running PIF Houses to ask how we could support and health. What we learned was that each house faced different problems due to the health crisis, but that several talked about a lack of food due to a drop in direct donations and pressures on food charities that supplied them with food.

So, our ’85 for 85’ campaign was born. It costs $85 a week to feed a young person – a figure equivalent to what many of us might spend on a food delivery for a family on a Friday night.

Thank you to everyone who supported this campaign. The money raised will be split between our PIF House charity partners including KARI, Lighthouse Foundation, Marist 180, St Lawrence House, Stepping Stone, and Wesley Mission.
