Getting to know the residents of our Haven Houses …

After being forced out of their home due to escalating family violence, *Natalie was terrified, alone and had no-where to go. At risk of homelessness and unable to afford a private rental, Natalie was referred to Haven House Granville by Frontline Charity Platform Youth Services. With stability and support, Natalie was able to take up a university placement and settle into a study routine in the home.

Haven House Granville offers a secure living space for young people engaged in further education and that meant Natalie was surrounded by students in similar life circumstances. For the first time, they could make longer term plans, enjoy life without fear, and focus on their health and wellbeing. With an eye for design and photography, Natalie took photos at an official Platform Youth Services event and was introduced to a local design company for potential work experience opportunities.

“Moving into Haven House Granville provided stability, and Natalie quickly settled in, forming connections with other like-minded students. They have since shared how this transition has been a positive change, improving their social connections, living skills, and overall wellbeing … opening new opportunities for their future,” say Platform Youth Services.
