“We believe architecture should not only shape skylines but also lives. Youth homelessness is a growing crisis in Australia - and we know that stable housing can change the trajectory of a young person’s life.”

Leading architecture practice nettletontribe have joined the Property Industry Foundation in the fight against youth homelessness.

As a Platinum Partner in Queensland, nettletontribe will support ground-breaking building developments and initiatives that have the power to transform young lives. Their support will help us create secure, stable homes for young people to put their bags down, make healthy connections, and develop life skills. We talked to David Cohen, Director, about their commitment to marginalised youth.

How did the partnership between nettletontribe and the Foundation come about?

As an architecture practice, we felt a natural alignment with the Property Industry Foundation’s mission — creating real, tangible impact through the built environment. Conversations with the Foundation highlighted how our design expertise could play a meaningful role in the housing projects they support. The partnership shows our commitment to go beyond business-as-usual and use our resources to support the community more directly.

Why has nettletontribe made a commitment to supporting homeless and at-risk youth?

We believe architecture should not only shape skylines but also lives. Youth homelessness is a growing crisis in Australia – and we know that stable housing can change the trajectory of a young person’s life. Partnering with the Foundation allows us to contribute to long-lasting solutions, using our skills to design places that feel safe, and supportive. As a team, we’re motivated by the idea that even one project can create a ripple effect – offering hope, dignity and a new beginning for vulnerable young people.

Tour de PIF stands out — it’s not only a fantastic physical challenge, but a wonderful reminder of what we can achieve together as an industry.

Why is it important that the property and construction industry gets involved with ending youth homelessness by sharing their skills and resources?

Youth homelessness is a complex issue, but our industry is uniquely positioned to be part of the solution. As professionals in the built environment, we hold a powerful set of tools: design, construction, project management, logistics – all essential to creating real homes.

Collaboration across the industry brings a richness of ideas, energy, and compassion – and that collective effort is what makes long-term impact possible.

Thank you, nettletontribe, for joining us to help build better lives, together. Interested in supporting homeless youth through the Foundation? Start making an impact.
