The Property and Construction Industry comes together to support Melbourne City Mission for our Annual Toiletries Drive

Thousands of toiletries were donated and over 800 toiletry packs were collated by teams from property and construction industry companies at our annual Toiletries Drive Wrap Day on 16 August, in Melbourne.

All the toiletry packs are being donated to Melbourne City Mission (MCM) and they are grateful for the continued support from the property and construction industry. “It’s an incredible amount of support,” says Dru Mills, MCM’s Head of Corporate and Community.

“So many organisations coming together to support the work of MCM and to help us make those who are homeless feel safe and feel like they can have a hot shower, a warm bed and the dignity that comes with personal hygiene can make a big difference to the work we do. It’s only with the ongoing support of organisations like the Property Industry Foundation and those assisting with the toiletry drive, that we can continue to offer services to those who need it most.”

“We want to thank all the companies that collected these items over the last month,” said Priscilla Heathwood, State Manager Victoria, Property Industry Foundation. ” We also want to thank our Future Leaders Committee who helped to drive this event as well as the 100 volunteers who came to put these packs together. It was a fantastic event that was made possible by our hosts, Pitcher Partners. Thank you, Craig Whatman and the team, at Pitcher Partners for their continued support.”

A special thank you Andrew Egan and the team at Egans Asset Management for donating packing boxes and transporting the toiletries from the event to MCM. “Access to toiletries is vital for homeless youth in terms of their health, hygiene, and self-esteem,” says Dru Mills. “It allows them to maintain proper hygiene practices, reducing the risk of diseases and promoting overall well-being and inclusion.”
