We talked to Trevor Joyce, founder of Mariner Boating Holidays about their generous donation of a luxury sailing holiday to beautiful Tahiti – the grand prize at our Charity Regatta NSW, held at the Cruising Yacht Club of Australia on 11 March.
Mariner Boating Holidays Founder Trevor Joyce has visited Tahiti over 20 times and now he’s giving away a 14-day luxury trip for two to the stunning island paradise. Join the hardy crew at the Property Industry Foundation’s Charity Regatta in Sydney and enter our raffle on the day to win a trip cruising Tahiti’s spectacular lagoons and atolls in a modern catamaran. The prize includes three nights in a luxury overwater bungalow at the Royal Huahine Resort in Huahine and three nights at the Te Moana Tahiti Resort. Property Industry Foundation will provide return flights to Papeete.
A Sailing Connection
Trevor first learnt about Property Industry Foundation through Arthur Lane, a member of the Regatta Committee.

It’s not the first time Mariner Boating Holidays has offered sponsorship and support for homeless youth.
“We have been a sponsor before and I always remember the Regatta’s post-race event for its atmosphere, the venue, and how it provides a good chance to connect,”
“Sometimes I even get to sail, which Covid has prevented me from doing for the last two years.”
The travel industry has been hard hit by the pandemic and border closures, but Trevor hopes for smoother sailing ahead.
“We’ve had no income since 2019, but there is a growing resolve to travel in spite of potential difficulties. When Covid disappears from the news headlines, people will travel and take their chances.”
Alongside luxury escapes, Mariner Boating Holidays also offers a lively program of international regatta events and hopes their grand prize will lure more boaties overseas.
“Our event in Tahiti, the Tahiti Yacht Rally, is held 15-29 October. Mariner Boating has been a specialist in Australian sailing holidays since 1985 but our main activity is the program of yacht rallies, of which Tahiti is one. It is semi-structured but offers a famous social dimension, 24/7 hosting and technical support, and a competitive dimension to stir the juices.”
