Through the Furniture Fund, Egan’s have donated 150 chairs to the education program at Melbourne City Mission (MCM).

The chairs will be used in a lecture theatre in MCM’s Hester Hornbrook Academy, which provides flexible education and learning options, including classes and outreach for students who are young parents, currently in or leaving out of home care, experiencing homelessness, or who have been disengaged from mainstream education.

“The savings generated by donations of furniture and other goods allow additional money to be spent on better learning resources,”

“Our goal with our fourth campus in King’s Way is to extend the capacity of the Hester Hornbrook Academy and create a consistent, welcoming, friendly and encouraging space for all our students to learn, gain confidence and grow.”

The Property Industry Foundation and MCM have worked together on several projects.

“Together we have increased accommodation for young people experiencing homelessness in Melbourne and renovated existing properties to provide better service for young people as MCM assists them to break the cycle of homelessness,”

“Most recently Frontyard Youth Services Accommodation, a youth refuge and wraparound services in Melbourne’s CBD and the West Refuge, a youth refuge in Werribee.””
