A team thats the wheel deal

Over 20 women in property and construction have taken on the fundraising and cycling challenge for this year’s Tour de PIF Melbourne on 19 November at Healesville.

The Wheel Deal team is lead by three Tour de PIF Melbourne Committee members and cyclists of varied experience: Belinda Coates, Slattery; Rachelle Hume, GPT and Manuela Marasco, Ceschino, and are focused on encouraging more women to get involved and network together.

“I joined the Tour de PIF Melbourne Committee earlier in 2021,” said Belinda Coates, Director Clients & Strategy. “And along with Manuela and Rachelle, we made it our aim to provide an opportunity for women who had not thought of getting on a bike to get involved.”

“The Wheel Deal team has a great mix of cyclists from amateur to experienced and there is even a Whats App Group set-up to arrange training rides, share strava achievements and provide tips on cycling gear.”

“We are enjoying getting together when restrictions allow to train in the lead up to November. We all know that the Tour de PIF is a fun way for property professionals to network, get fit and improve their cycling skills while raising money for this great cause, so if you want to join us or support us, go to our team page and help us become the team of the mountain”

Slattery has been involved with the Property Industry Foundation for many years having sponsored Tour de PIFs in Melbourne and Brisbane and supporting a number of building projects by providing pro-bono and low-bono Quantity Surveying Services.

Belinda is also a Director of TEN Women who are working closely with the Property Industry Foundation and The Lighthouse Foundation to deliver much needed housing for women escaping forced marriage.   TEN Women aim to raise over $250.000 for this project.

“The Property Industry Foundation really resonates to property professionals.  Our industry is built on networking and collaboration and the Foundation brings these skills together to provide solutions that make a long-term difference to young people struggling with homelessness.”
