A trustworthy team taking in the cause to sleep out

This October, The Property industry Sleep Out will be happening in Queensland to help bring property and construction professionals together to unwind, rest from a long year and raise funds to stop youth homelessness.
TrussCrop (one of our newest partners) is one of the exciting companies joining the Sleep Out this year. We spoke with TrussCorp Director Ross Glennie to see why and how they are bringing their work place together.

Armed currently with a team of 6 committed to the event but growing, TrussCorp is participating in this years Sleep Out with the main goals of raising awareness of the issue for youth homelessness and supporting PIF House Projects to help put a stop to it. The workplace will hold a full staff BBQ for lunch, asking for gold coin donations for food/drinks and play some board and card games with winnings/prize money that will also go towards the TrussCorp teams fundraising.

Where will the teams sleep out take place? The office or the outside lunchroom area are the two prime locations (though snorers have been warned that they will sleep in the factory).

Ross touched on the impact an event like this has not only for homeless youth, but bringing the work place together in testing times. As staff work between home and office, it can create a disconnect that can be remedied with events that bring people together.

“This event will be an opportunity to catch up outside of work hours and ‘check-in’ with each other, enjoy a few games together while raising some funds and discussing the work PIF do for homeless youth and how this event will help.”

With a fundraising target of $5,000, the team is eager to make an impact with plans to share their mission via social media and email to customers and suppliers to receive the support that will make the team and homeless youth sleep better at night.

Ross and his team send out a warm well done to anyone participating and strongly believe together we will raise plenty of awareness and much-needed funds to help stop youth homelessness amongst young Australians.

You can join the TrussCorp team this Sleep Out by registering yourself or your work place.
