Cheers to 25 Years!

The Sydney property and construction industry came out in force to celebrate the 25th anniversary of the Sydney Charity Regatta, raising over $300,000 for homeless youth.

The 25th Property Industry Foundation Sydney Charity Regatta was held under blue skies at the Cruising Yacht Club of Australia on Friday 15 March. This popular industry sailing event has played a pivotal role in transforming the lives of at-risk and vulnerable young people in NSW, raising millions for vital housing projects.

A special pre-race lunch featured insightful and thought-provoking presentations from speakers Elizabeth Gordon, Fundraising Manager at Stepping Stone House and a key Foundation Charity Partner; Kyzar Jing, an Adviser at the Advocate for Children and Young People’s Office who rebuilt his life after experiencing incarceration and homelessness, and a panel discussion hosted by Malcolm Tyson, CEO of Colliers, featuring Greg Paramor, Walter Carpenter, Tony Quinn and CYCA Commodore, Arthur Lane. This lively panel saw the group sharing their memorable moments from 25 years of sailing for homeless youth.

Lucky regatta raffle winners were also announced, with generous raffle prizes donated by RTW Communications, Arthur Lane, CYCA, Mark Moran Group, Colliers, Buildcorp and Kate Nixon.

After a relaxed lunch, it was time to take to the water for the main event – an afternoon of friendly racing on a fleet of high-performance super yachts. 600 sailors and spectators enjoyed a stunning day out on the harbour, with unbeatable water views! After the last boat came over the line, it was time to head back to the CYCA for the official Post Race Function Party – a chance to raise a glass, mingle with friends and colleagues and enjoy delicious bites.

The Property Industry Foundation CEO Kate Mills was then tasked with the all-important announcement of the race winners. Congratulations to everyone who took part.
