Walker Corp tenants are striking a pose at a festive photo booth in ugly Christmas sweaters in a holiday season fundraising activity for the Property Industry Foundation.
Walker Corp is embracing the awkward Christmas family photo in a genius fundraising activity for the Foundation. This December, they’re inviting their tenants to don ugly festive sweaters and pose for portraits, all while raising funds for The Haven Project – building projects for homeless youth. “We wanted to implement an engaging activation for our tenants that was fun and quirky, while also supporting a fantastic cause which we are very passionate about at Walker,” says Hannah Mehmet, General Manager of Collins Square. “Walker aims to raise as much as we can over the three-day activation and bring awareness to the great initiatives by the Property Industry Foundation and the positive impact they have on our youth.”
Expect to see plenty of reindeer jumpers and Santa hats as the participants pose against classic 80s living room backdrops. The activation will be run by Awkward Portraits, a Melbourne-owned company who know how to make people look their worst! “Our team will wholeheartedly embrace the opportunity, including donning those infamous ugly Christmas sweaters,” Hannah promises. “We look forward to participating as a team, but also watching our tenants get involved and embrace their silly side.”
With a sleigh load of silly grins and loud outfits, Walker Corp is showing their support for young people who’ve had a tough start in life. “The decision to support the Property Industry Foundation in our fundraising endeavours is grounded in our ethos as community placemakers,” says Hannah. “Providing a secure and stable living environment is fundamental to the foundation of a happy successful life, particularly in the formative stages. Christmas can be a very difficult time for some as expenses accumulate, and it’s important for us to play our part in the community and assist where possible. Walker strongly aligns with the incredible work the Property Industry Foundation does with the community and we are grateful we can contribute to their initiatives.”
