Light Project has joined the Property Industry Foundation as a Product Partner – donating a percentage of their revenue towards fighting youth homelessness.

As our new Product Partner, innovative lighting solutions provider and supply chain partner to the property and construction industry, Light Project will donate 2% of sales revenue from works done with Foundation partners back towards supporting Foundation projects. They’ll also offer free lighting design and supply services. “We jumped at the opportunity to work with the Property Industry Foundation, having heard many positive stories about their work,” says CEO, Simonne Bailey. “As a business, when you give to charitable causes, it is often challenging to track how the money is spent and if it will reach those that need it the most. With the Foundation, you see the homes that are built through The Haven Project and the opportunity they offer young people to build a better future for themselves.”

“The support provided by the Property Industry Foundation is a real lifeline; tackling youth homelessness opens the door to increased social inclusion, mental health benefits, education and employment.”

Matt Hicks, Light Project

Youth homelessness is a cause that’s close to the hearts of Light Project’s team – Matt, Simonne and Simone Hicks (COO). “We are passionate about making a difference and youth homelessness is a cause close to our hearts having seen firsthand the repercussions it has had on someone close to us,” Matt explains. “The ability to contribute through the Foundation in shaping a young person’s life and the next generation is invaluable. The support provided by the Property Industry Foundation is a real lifeline; tackling youth homelessness opens the door to increased social inclusion, mental health benefits, education and employment.”

We look forward to working in partnership with Light Project on new Haven Project developments, including on Haven House Logan in Queensland, managed by local women’s charity Lady Musgrave Trust. This transitional housing will support vulnerable mums aged 18-24 to rebuild their lives. “We’re excited to be involved with Haven House Logan and the whole Light Project team is keen to engage in as many events and activities as possible during the year and into the future, specifically workerbees, SleepOuts and Charity Regattas,” says Matt. “The early years of a child’s life are a transformative time; having those basic needs met – a roof over their head and a place to call home is the bare minimum. With stable housing and the support of the Foundation and their charity partners, they can focus on fulfilling their dreams and eventually exiting these homes equipped with the skills for a better life.”
