Unispace will keep the fun going after the final boat crosses the finish line as our official Brisbane Charity Regatta After Party sponsor.
The Unispace team connected with us recently to discuss the importance of coming together through charitable industry events and the impact supporting homeless youth has on their company.
Why is it important for Unispace to connect and come together with others in the property and construction industry through cause-based events like our Charity Regatta?
It’s been an been an eye-opening experience learning that over 44,000 young Australians experience homelessness, and that 1 in 3 are turned away from accommodation every night across the nation. At Unispace, we’ve always placed importance on the work we do having a positive impact on the local community, so PIF is a natural fit for us. Being involved with PIF projects and events gives us the opportunity to contribute to a tangible outcome, which is testament to the property and construction community coming together to make a real difference.
There’s no denying that events, particularly face-to-face events like the Charity Regatta, are invaluable for building connections and fostering relationships with our peers in the property and construction industry. And, the ability to do so while supporting an important cause, like youth homelessness, is even better.
How does Unispace’s engagement in Foundation events impact your team and business culture?
At Unispace, our people are the core of our business, so providing them with the opportunity to take part in PIF is certainly beneficial for our culture. Over the last 12 months we’ve been delighted to take part in various PIF initiatives across Australia, initiatives like Hard Hat Day, The Sleep Out, Tour De PIF, the rebuild of the Girls and Boys Brigade and the Charity Regattas.
Our team members enjoy supporting PIF, whether it’s on our worksites, in our studios or on the water, they value how these initiatives contribute to a tangible goal. Most of our contributions to PIF wouldn’t be possible without the passion and dedication of our team members, like Unispace being named as a leading fundraiser for last year’s Sydney Sleep Out and team members being involved with PIF Committees.
What are you looking forward to at the upcoming Charity Regatta?
If the last two years have taught us anything, it’s the importance of human and emotional connection – which we know is unrivalled in a face-to-face setting. So, what better way to do that than outdoors on the ocean. It was our pleasure to snap up the After Party sponsorship for this year’s Regatta, our Brisbane team are looking forward to the yacht race and networking with like-minded industry peers, but more importantly, raising much needed funds for the Haven Project and bringing the industry together to make a difference for youth experiencing homelessness.
