An update on Shane Foley's Scenic Rim Ultra marathon for homeless youth

Recently we got in touch with Realm Projects Managing Director Shane Foley for his big Scenic Rim Ultra marathon that was taking place in August. Shane was going to partake in an intense 65km run in an effort to help raise funds for PIF House Projects for homeless youth.

Shane’s goals for the run was to raise funds to support homeless youth in need and finish the run before the sun goes down (see Shanes pre-race ambitions).

Shane recently got in touch with us to give us an update on how he went on the day. Displaying some amazing resilience and drive, Shane finished the run 3.5 hours faster than his last attempt the year before! Meaning he was able to complete the 65km run with some lovely scenery as he completed the run before the sun went down.

Through his efforts through rainy, muddy and hill covered terrain, Shane managed to raise over $3,200 in donations to the Property Industry Foundation.

“I wanted to raise funds for PIF as I know how active they are in helping get homeless youth off the street and providing opportunities to help them get back on their feet again.

As I think many people do, I’ve often found it confronting seeing people homeless in the street and wanting to do something to help but not knowing where to start, so fundraising for PIF was a great opportunity”

The Property Industry Foundation team both congratulates and thanks Shane for his passion and drive in pushing himself and the cause to help put an end to the problem of youth homelessness.
