The Property Industry Foundation’s Brisbane Charity Regatta is celebrating 10 years of sailing for homeless youth. Built will join us on the water as the regatta’s Principal Partner in 2024.

Christian Adamson, General Manager Built Queensland, talks to us about why they continue to support this popular industry sailing event, which raises funds for the Property Industry Foundation’s building program, The Haven Project. Some of the local QLD projects supported through fundraising include Haven House Kingaroy with South Burnett CTC and the Logan Hub with Lady Musgrave Trust.

It’s the eighth time Built has signed on as Principal Partner of the Brisbane Charity Regatta – why is this event such a good fit for your organisation?

Like the Property Industry Foundation, Built is committed to having real impact in our communities and the Brisbane Charity Regatta is a fantastic way to unite the property and construction industry and put a spotlight on youth homelessness. Nationally, Built has strong partnerships with organisations that make a real difference to people in need and the Property Industry Foundation does just that. Here in Brisbane and across the country, our teams volunteer skills and time to help, and the annual regatta is a fun and impactful way to raise funds to assist those in need.

“We are proud to support the Property Industry Foundation as they continue to build homes for homeless youth across Brisbane, which makes a real and lasting impact in the community.”

Christian Adamson, Built

Built is committed to having real impact in our communities by targeting issues closest to us and where we can make a tangible difference. We have strong partnerships with grassroots organisations that make a difference to people in need and volunteer our skills, time and extensive supply chain partnerships to help, and the regatta is an ideal fit.

What do you look forward to most about being part of the day?

It’s a great day of networking with the industry and coming together with our colleagues and industry peers for a fantastic afternoon of sailing, all the while working towards a common goal to raise funds to support homeless youth.

Built is always proud to sponsor the regatta and assist the Foundation in their efforts to create more beds for local youth.

Any words of advice to novice sailors keen to have a go?

Sign up and give it a go. It’s always great to be on the water and even those who have never sailed before, can rest assured knowing you’re in very capable hands. It’s an enjoyable day with the wider industry and I couldn’t think of a much better way to raise funds for an important cause.

Why is Built is on board with the Foundation in their mission to end youth homelessness and support young people in need?

Over the years we’ve been working together, we can see the difference the Foundation has made to homeless youth and the real impact it has had on so many young lives. Particularly now in the current climate, where the cost of living is at its highest, and so many thousands of youths are struggling, we are in full support of the Foundation and the impact they have in solving this very real issue.

We are proud to support the Property Industry Foundation as they continue to build homes for homeless youth across Brisbane, which makes a real and lasting impact in the community.
