The Victorian Board of Advisors farewells outgoing Chair Tim Slattery and welcomes our new Chair Pete King to the position.
Tim Slattery has been on the Victorian Board of Advisors since 2017, acting as Chair for just over three years. He’s also been a member of our National Board since 2022.
As a Managing Partner at ASA Real Estate Partners, Tim brought valuable industry knowledge and contacts to the role. “I believe I have an obligation to try to make the world a better place,” says Tim of his decision to join the boards. “The Property Industry Foundation is a great cause – having a safe place to shelter is fundamentally important for a decent start in life for vulnerable kids.”
Although he admits to “mixed feelings” about stepping down from his board roles, Tim believes the time is right to hand over the reins.
”“When I first joined the Board, I wanted to create more impact, but also stability and continuity, building on the great work done before and setting the Foundation up for the next phase of its evolution. The time is right for me, the Foundation, and the great team we have around the country and in Victoria. Onwards and upwards and it is in excellent hands with both Pete King and his new deputy Monica Fontaine.”

The Foundation and the Victorian Board have grown and developed since Tim joined in 2017. “We are significantly larger, more impactful, and more professional in how we go about rallying the industry and making a difference,” says Tim. “It’s been great to see new events being exceptionally well supported and raising significant amounts of money for the cause.”
Making a tangible difference in a young person’s life has been a driving force for Tim and fellow board members. “It’s been so wonderful to hear firsthand how the work we do has made a genuinely life-changing impact on some great young people who have simply been dealt a bad hand in life to start with,” Tim reflects. “It’s been a privilege to work with great people and outstanding industry volunteers. I’m looking forward to staying connected and seeing the Foundation continue to grow from a different vantage point.”
Pete is looking forward to stepping into the role of Chair. “I am pleased and honoured to be taking over from Tim and continuing the great work and leadership he has provided to the Board in recent years,” says Pete.
