At the end of last year PIF brought together a team led by PIF national donor Kane Constructions to upgrade a very special place in Fitzroy, Victoria.

“Cubbies” is a unique playground constructed of upcycled materials, which provides a creative and safe space for young children. The dedicated staff of Save the Children run supervised activities for both children in their care as well as for the general public.

The volunteer efforts included the build of a new sandpit, a tidy up and general repairs. The team led by Kane Constructions included Landscape Plus who built the sandpit, National Plumbing sealed a leaking roof and installed a dishwasher while Unique Floors re-carpeted the interior. In addition, Coates Hire kindly provided lawnmowers and Ascot Bins supplied a large skip bin for the subsequent clean-up. Kane would also like to thank Bunnings who generously donated a number of items.

It’s another great example of the property industry and suppliers coming together to make a real difference to young peoples’ lives.
