Help homeless youth find a place to call home when You Attend the Perth Autumn Home Show

Donate to the Property Industry Foundation at the Perth Autumn Home Show from 26 – 28 March

Young people currently make up a significant proportion (21%) of the homeless population in Western Australia, despite those aged 15-24 only making up 12.6% of the overall population1.

Among those in youth homelessness services2

  • half had slept rough before the age of 18;
  • 63% had been in out-of-home care;
  • More than half had left home or run away because of violence between parents or guardians.

The Property Industry Foundation exists to solve this problem of youth homelessness. We bring together the property and construction industry to create safe and secure environments for at-risk and homeless youth

The visitors and exhibitors at the Perth Autumn Home Show at Perth Convention and Exhibition Centre (PCEC) this March 26th – 28th can support the Property Industry Foundation, the Home Show’s charity of choice. Our focus is on a solution which is tangible, enduring, helps many young people over many years, and sets up young people with stability and a brighter future. We do this by partnering with youth-focused charities to build safe environments and support initiatives focused on education, pathways to employment and wellbeing.

For example, that can be building homes for homeless youth through our PIF House Program (see more here) or investing in early intervention and prevention initiatives as well as creating pathways to education and employment for young people at risk.

“I firmly believe the youth of Australia are the future of tomorrow. By partnering with organisations that invest in helping disadvantaged youth, I believe together we can make a difference. Now more than ever, our home is our haven, our safe place and our shelter. Ensuring youth have a place to call home is fundamental in ensuring their security and happiness as well as a smooth transition into independent living,”

Jane Ford, Managing Director, Exhibitions and Events Australia, the organiser of The Home Show.
