The property industry’s largest fundraising events for youth homelessness kick off this Friday 28 February with The Melbourne PIF Charity Regatta.

PIF is the Property Industry Foundation, an industry-backed charity that builds homes for homeless youth in Victoria, New South Wales, and Queensland.

The Melbourne PIF Regatta – one of three Regattas run by PIF to fundraise for homeless youth – takes place at the Royal Brighton Yacht Club and is sponsored by Brookfield.

Chris Sprangers, Senior Vice President, Brookfield Asset Management said: “We are so proud to sponsor the Melbourne Regatta. It’s an incredible opportunity to support an important issue that’s close to Brookfield’s heart and to bring the property industry together for a great cause and a great day out.”

Olympic sailor, Mark Turnbull, who won a gold medal with Tom King at the 2000 Olympics will be in attendance. Turnbull said: “This is one of the best sailing events in Melbourne. To see so many noteworthy yachts and to be raising money to build homes for young Aussies who are doing it tough, it is so heartening.”

The Soiree, the official afterparty, is open to the public. Tickets are $240 and includes substantial canapes and a drinks package.

Guests will have the chance to win a holiday to Vanuatu, which includes seven nights’ accommodation for six people in a private beachfront and a flight voucher. Tickets to the raffle are just $25 and all proceeds go towards building houses for homeless youth.

The CEO of Property Industry Foundation, Kate Mills, said: “The PIF Regattas are a highlight of the calendar for the property industry. It’s a great example of the industry coming together to enjoy themselves while fundraising for youth homelessness.”
