This May, the Brisbane Charity Regatta at the Royal Queensland Yacht Squadron will be raising funds for the PIF House Program where we build homes for homeless youth.

In Queensland, 23% of homeless people are aged 12-24 years, and the state provides some support for young people experiencing or at risk of homelessness. This includes the delivery of Youth Support Services in 90 locations across the State. In spite of this investment there remain some key service gaps, particularly for young people in the youth justice system, who are at high risk of homelessness due to factors including family and domestic violence, parental substance abuse, family transience, lack of family support, substance abuse, use of violence, and challenging behaviours associated with mental illness or intellectual disability.

The money raised from your day at sea will support the PIF House Brisbane where we bring the industry together to build homes for homeless youth.

This year’s regatta is sponsored by BUILT. We are lucky to have limited restrictions affecting this event in Queensland. If you have not booked already, click here to get back on the water on 14 May 2021 and sail for homeless youth.
