Unispace will dial up the fun as our official Brisbane Charity Regatta After Party sponsor in 2024. “As an organisation in the design and construction industry, Unispace seeks opportunities to use our skills and resources to have a positive impact in our community. Supporting the Property Industry Foundation and the important mission of ending youth homelessness is a natural fit for our company and our people,” says Joanne Taylor, Unispace Principal, Client Engagement.

“Unispace is proud to support the Foundation in their mission to end youth homelessness and support young people in need. We firmly believe that everyone deserves a safe and stable place to call home.”

10 Years of Sailing for Homeless Youth

The issue of homelessness remains a problem in Australia, especially for young people facing a rental crisis and cost of living increases. “Recent increases in the cost of living, higher interest rates, and increasing property and rental prices are putting additional pressure on households,” says Joanne. “The Brisbane Charity Regatta provides a unique platform for us to increase awareness of youth homelessness and discuss potential solutions and innovations with our peers across the industry.”

As the Brisbane Charity Regatta celebrates its 10-year anniversary, the industry is still as keen as ever to try their hand at racing prestige yachts. “We are excited to be part of the regatta!” says Joanne. “The race day itself is an enjoyable activity and we look forward to connecting and networking with like-minded industry professionals in a setting that fosters meaningful conversations and interactions.”

An Unmissable Industry Event

Over ten years, the Brisbane Charity Regatta has grown into an unmissable event on the industry calendar. “The regatta has given us countless memorable moments,” says Joanne. “Waiting out on the water for the race to commence really stands out, there’s lots of excitement seeing all the yachts lining up, about to commence the race. The challenges of the race and passion for the cause has a way of bringing teams together and fostering strong bonds.”

Build Connections and Create Futures

For anyone still considering signing up to sail this year, Joanne has words of encouragement. “We wholeheartedly encourage our industry peers in Brisbane and Queensland to participate in the Regatta. It offers more than just an exciting day on the water; it’s an opportunity to build connections while making a difference. By joining forces and supporting the Foundation, you will contribute to the efforts to end youth homelessness and create a brighter future for young Australians. Through this event, we can foster a collaborative spirit that extends beyond individual organisations and enables us all to have a bigger impact.”

For anyone wanting to unwind after the last buoy, the After Party always delivers. “It’s so fun!” says Joanne. “Picture an atmosphere of celebration, lively conversations, and a strong sense of camaraderie. The afterparty serves as an opportunity to unwind and reflect on the day, as well as on the Foundation’s mission to end youth homelessness.”

In Queensland, 9,595 young people are homeless. Join us at the Brisbane Charity Regatta on 17 May and raise funds for homeless youth building projects.
