Sunshine on a rainy day

Thanks to everyone who ran and walked – and sponsored and volunteered – to make Tour de PIF Sydney such a great day.

Although the cycling element was rained out, this did not stop everyone getting a little bit muddy and making a day of it! We were all rewarded with a scrumptious lunch in the sunshine.

Some highlights included seeing kangaroos, team members from Charter Hall herding baby ducklings back to their mum, and the opportunity to have a massage once you crossed the finishing line.

We have so far raised over $217,000!

167 Riders

192 Walkers

90 Runners

All doing the hard yards to raise funds for homeless youth!

On the Day

The morning starts were staggered with the 20km walk kicking off the day with a little bit of drizzle, however by mid-morning sun had come out.

The 20km runners headed out at 9.20am, followed by the 10km walkers at 9.45am and finally the 10km runners at 10.30 – in full sunshine!

The course for the walk was the same for the run. This 10km route (twice around for 20kms) utilised a combination of the wide grass trails and narrow single track within three sections of the Scheyville National Park.

This made for muddy parts that added to the adventure of the day.
