Sydney-based real estate group Dexus took part in a Workerbee at Early Bird Cafe at St Stephens Uniting Church in the Sydney CBD.

Since 2012, the Early Bird Cafe at St Stephens Uniting Church in the Sydney CBD has prepared over 20,000 breakfasts every year for disadvantaged patrons. They serve a delicious breakfast, rain or shine from Monday to Friday 7am-8am from the 197 Macquarie Street steps. Their aim is to provide practical assistance to those in need, not only the homeless but those who have fallen on tough times too.

A group from Dexus helped out recently as part of their organisation’s volunteering efforts.

“We had a very positive experience volunteering with the Property Industry Foundation to help provide breakfast at Early Bird Cafe to young people experiencing homelessness and disadvantage,” says Dexus volunteer Adam Innocenzi.

“Volunteering options like this are a great mix of supporting a worthy cause while also team building. At the end of the event, we felt we had made a positive impact on the people we saw.”

Dexus volunteer Lorraine Lee, who is also a valued member of our State Board of Advisors in NSW, is a strong advocate for the Property Industry Foundation.

“Property Industry Foundation supports the worthwhile cause of youth homelessness that impacts the communities around our properties,” says Lorraine.

“It was great to see this work firsthand and to help our local community.”

Dexus’s purpose is to create spaces where people thrive. The volunteering session aligned to their purpose, helping their communities to thrive too.
