We love it when our community gets behind our cause in their own fundraising initiatives. Throughout 2025, our industry supporters ran, walked, played futsal, networked, created, auctioned and donated towards improving the lives of homeless and vulnerable young people. Here are some of our community fundraising highlights …

Futsal Fundraiser:

My Mortgage Freedom and CVA Property Consultants laced up their boots in March and hit the futsal court for a charity match – a game that was a year in the making! What started as a conversation over a shared love of soccer turned into a fantastic fundraising event that brought the two teams together, strengthened bonds, and raised funds for the Property Industry Foundation.

“After a few weeks of training, MyMF took home the win in our inaugural match – we won’t let CVA forget it anytime soon!” said Anthony Alabakov – CEO, My Mortgage Freedom.

But beyond the scoreboard, the real victory was made in camaraderie, teamwork and the difference we made together. Special thanks to Tino Tabacchiera, Stan Dawidowski and Steven Bartolo for working with us on this, and to a new annual tradition!”

Bridging the Gap:

On 12 June, the amazing team at CBRE Brisbane took to the streets for the Bridging Brisbane Walkathon, a laid-back 5-8km loop through Brisbane CBD, South Bank, and Kangaroo Point, finishing up at the Port Office Hotel for a cool drink. CBRE selected the Property Industry Foundation as their charity partner – raising funds to empower homeless youth. With a goal of $5,000, team CBRE Brisbane doubled their efforts, raising $10,099.

Connecting for a Cause:

Construction Connect backed the Property Industry Foundation as their charity of choice for the Construction & Waterproofing 2025 conferences in Sydney, Melbourne and Brisbane in June – raising $29,500 for homeless youth. “Attendees, sponsors, and partners embraced the opportunity to support the Property Industry Foundation, and together we raised $29,500 across the three events. This outcome reflects the generosity of our industry and the shared recognition of the importance of creating lasting social impact alongside professional collaboration,” said Nathalie Dubois.

Thanks for helping us build a brighter future for our most vulnerable young people!

Art Auction:

The Architectus REACH Group hosted their 5th annual Archi-Auction on 19 June in Sydney, Melbourne and Brisbane. The Archi-Auction, started by their in-house team of next-gen designers and graduates, invites staff to donate original artworks, handcrafted items, books and experiences. 84 unique items were up for grabs this year – from illustrations and ceramics to hand knitted goods – raising over $26K towards safe, stable homes for young people in crisis.

Grill’d for Good:

In July, Grill’d fired up their support for the Property Industry Foundation in their Local Matters program. Diners popped a token in the jar at Grill’d Wintergarden in Brisbane to vote for supporting homeless youth building projects and initiatives. Local Matters gives $80,000 every month to various groups across the country.

One more reason to love a good burger!

Urbanity-25:

In August, The Urban Developer selected the Foundation as their charity of choice for Urbanity-25, an Asia-Pacific urban development conference – raising a total of $36,470 through a popular raffle. The Foundation’s QLD State Manager, Antoinette Rusby-Perera presented at the conference: Housing with Purpose | Haven House – Unlocking the Industry’s Potential to Shelter the Homeless.

She was joined by Victoria Parker, CEO of Lady Musgrave Trust, and John Campbell, Associate Director at Blight Rayner Architecture, to share how Haven House Logan (Jinndii Waijung) is providing transitional housing for young women at risk of homelessness in Queensland. Big thanks to our partners The Urban Developer!

Running for Rooms:

On August 9, Mecone braved wet and wild weather conditions to run 14km and raise $1,388 in support of the Property Industry Foundation at the iconic City2Surf race in Sydney. Their rain, hail or shine efforts exceeded their original $1,000 goal – helping us create safe, stable places where young people can thrive. “Thank you, Property Industry Foundation! We’re proud to support such an important cause and had a great time running City2Surf for homeless youth!” said Team Mecone.

Flower Funding:

Support for our cause was blooming during Homelessness Week (5-11 August) thanks to Investa’s Flower Auctions. A big thank you to the staff and tenants across Investa’s Sydney and Melbourne buildings who raised $4,107 in support of the Property Industry Foundation and its mission to end youth homelessness.

PCA Footy Lunch:

The Property Council of Australia’s annual Footy Lunch on 19 September raised $46,900 for the Property Industry Foundation. 1,400 industry professionals gathered for a lively lunch at Palladium at Crown in Melbourne to celebrate the upcoming AFL Grand Final. The industry showed their generous spirit with steady donations for homeless building projects as star panellists Katie Brennan, Nick Riewoldt and Toby Green tackled the game’s hot topics and offered their predictions for the premiership.

A big win for homeless youth!

Bridge to Brisbane:

Teams from Cox Architecture and Architectus took on the challenge of the Bridge to Brisbane on 14 September – fundraising for the Foundation’s homeless building projects. “I joined the Architectus team in raising funds for the Property Industry Foundation to contribute to their mission of increasing the number of bedrooms available for homeless youth and supporting initiatives that bring about systemic change,” said Courtney Richardson, Architectus.

This popular charity fun run raised a total of $1.12 million for over 300 charities!

Next Gen Support:

QUT Planning Students Association (QUTPSA) supported the Property Industry Foundation for a second year, through their popular Charity Hamper Raffle. This student-run group started volunteering for Foundation events in 2023 and launched their fundraising raffle at their annual Awards of Excellence in 2024 – raising over $700 in the process. “As students, we could be impacted by the housing crisis ourselves,” says President Isabella Steffen. “It’s about bringing fresh perspectives to help make life better for all.” Inspiring work by the next generation of changemakers!

UDIA Victoria:

As the year wound down, UDIA Victoria selected the Property Industry Foundation as their charity partner for the 2025 UDIA Awards Ceremony and End of Year lunch. A life-changing $19,550 was raised through a charity raffle to support the Haven Project – providing safe and stable homes for homeless youth.
