GPT has reduced the amount of furniture going to landfill and donated $28K to the Furniture Fund.
The Furniture Fund has allowed GPT to take their unwanted office furniture and turn it into a donation for homeless youth.
“We’ve donated to the Furniture Fund through defits,” explains Katherine Noden, General Manager, The GPT Group. “This is all the furniture left behind when tenancies are left vacant. When tenants leave furniture behind, GPT are often left with a hefty bill to remove fitout, as well as knowing furniture often ends up in landfill. By aligning with the Furniture Fund, we’re able to reduce the cost of the defit, reduce furniture ending up in landfill and give to a good cause. We feel the Furniture Fund is a fantastic initiative which is great to support; from both a philanthropic and a sustainability perspective.”
GPT’s team will also be joining a workerbee at Haven House Bon Beach in Victoria on 2 June.
Thanks, GPT!
