PIF House Coburg was a collaboration with Henley Properties, with land donated by Moreland City Council.

It’s a six-bedroom house for mothers and babies, with a therapeutic program that aims to break inter-generational homelessness. It provides safe accommodation for up to four disadvantaged young mums and their babies with two live-in carers.

The holistic, intensive model of care provided by Lighthouse and generously funded by Vicki Vidor, is essential in enabling these young women to form attachments with their newborns and get off to a strong and healthy start together.

The young mums entering the home will be given 24/7 support, just like a grandparent would provide to a new mum, from two full time live-in carers. Most importantly, the house is a place where these young women and their new bubs – perhaps for the first time in their lives – feel safe and have somewhere to truly call home.
