Making a Connection

Construction Connect backed the Property Industry Foundation as their charity of choice for the Construction & Waterproofing 2025 conferences in Sydney, Melbourne and Brisbane – raising $29,500 for homeless youth. We talked to Nathalie Dubois about their community contribution.

Why did you choose the Foundation to support this year?

Construction Connect chose the Property Industry Foundation because of its strong alignment with our values and the industry we represent. The Foundation not only works within the property and construction sector but also channels that expertise to address one of the most pressing issues in our communities—youth homelessness. Supporting an organisation that builds homes and provides safe environments for vulnerable young people was a natural fit for our events and the audience we bring together.

Tell us about the response from the conferences?

The Construction & Waterproofing 2025 conferences in Sydney, Melbourne, and Brisbane received an overwhelmingly positive response. Attendees, sponsors, and partners embraced the opportunity to support the Property Industry Foundation, and together we raised $29,500 across the three events. This outcome reflects the generosity of our industry and the shared recognition of the importance of creating lasting social impact alongside professional collaboration.

Why do you feel it’s important for the property and construction industry to support building homes for homeless youth?

The property and construction industry has a unique ability to create tangible change—literally building safe spaces and secure housing.

When young people lack stability and shelter, their chances of building a positive future are significantly reduced.  By contributing skills, resources, and financial support, our industry can directly improve lives and help break the cycle of homelessness. It’s about using our collective expertise to ensure vulnerable youth are given not just a roof over their heads, but a foundation for opportunity and hope.

Want to choose the Foundation as your charity of choice? Every bit counts in the fight against youth homelessness! With your help we can have an impact on thousands of young, vulnerable people through funding systemic change, supporting our frontline charities, and building secure homes for homeless youth. Here are some ways to give back
