After hearing the Property Industry Foundation QLD needed a workspace, ThomsonAdsett welcomed the Queensland team into a new home at their Brisbane studio!
QLD State Manager Antoinette Rusby-Perera and QLD Events & Engagement Manager Rebecca Field are now settling into a beautiful work zone in the Valley. With ThomsonAdsett’s regular morning teas, staff lunches and Friday drinks, they’re already feeling like part of the family! We talked to Brisbane Studio Leader Katrina Miranda about the new arrangement.
Why did ThomsonAdsett want to share their office space with the Foundation?
At ThomsonAdsett, we believe in using our spaces for more than just work, we want them to be places that support community, connection, and purpose, much like how we approach our designs. When we heard the Foundation’s Queensland team needed a home base, it was a no-brainer. We had the space, and they had the mission. Offering in-kind office space felt like a small but meaningful way we could help amplify the incredible work they’re doing to end youth homelessness.
How will the arrangement work?
It’s simple, really! The Foundation’s Queensland team now has a dedicated space within our Brisbane studio where they can work, collaborate, and connect with industry partners. We’re right in the heart of the Valley, so it’s a great location for meetings and events. Plus, we’re always having morning teas and social events – so we’re hoping it feels like an extended work family for them.

How did you come to learn about the Property Industry Foundation?
I first came across the Foundation through industry events and word-of-mouth from colleagues who were already involved. The more I learned, the more I was drawn in. The Foundation’s focus on practical, long-term solutions, like building real homes and creating real pathways for young people, is incredibly inspiring. It’s not just charity; it’s change.
Why do you feel it’s important for the property and construction industry to support young homeless people?
Because we build places for people and that should include all people. As an industry, we have the skills, resources and networks to make a tangible difference. Youth homelessness is a complex issue, but if we each do a little, whether it’s donating time, space, or expertise, we can help create a future where every young person has a safe place to call home, which in turn is the baseline to build a successful future.
Anything else you’d like to add?
Just a big thank you to the Property Industry Foundation team for the work you do every day. It’s easy to get caught up in deadlines and deliverables, but partnerships like this remind us why we do what we do. We’re proud to be part of the Foundation community and can’t wait to see what we can achieve together.
Thanks ThomsonAdsett!
