Project Overview

The Property Industry Foundation is partnering with The Lady Musgrave Trust to build transitional housing for vulnerable young mothers (aged 18-24 years inclusive) and their children at Yarrabilba, Logan.

The proposed Logan Hub will create an additional four safe and secure self-contained units (9 bedrooms) in the Logan region, with common space for learning and support activities.

The project will provide vulnerable young local mothers (many of whom have been affected by domestic and family violence) with an opportunity to stabilise their lives and develop life skills and capability to build great futures for themselves and their children

01 Our new project in Logan, QLD!

The Property Industry Foundation Queensland gathered for a special 10-year anniversary dinner and announced an exciting new project in Logan.

The Property Industry Foundation proudly celebrated their 10th Anniversary in Queensland on 31 August, with a fundraising dinner at The Calile Hotel in Brisbane.

The Foundation officially launched its next project, Haven House Logan at this dinner. This flagship project, in partnership with The Lady Musgrave Trust, will provide brand new transitional housing to at-risk young mothers (aged 18-24 years) and their children.

The Lady Musgrave Trust’s Logan Housing Hub will provide up to 4,000 nights of safe accommodation in Logan for young women and children experiencing homelessness due to domestic and family violence. Four self-contained homes will be available for young families, as well as onsite support, social spaces and proximity to schools and transport.

02 Land visit during exciting early days

It was special to have our Queensland team join the staff from The Lady Musgrave Trust and the young mums helping share the importance of the development of this project during an early stages site visit for Logan House.

It’s a great experience to come together and share in the excitement of what this empty space will mean to young mums in need once the housing spaces are complete and the living spaces are ready to empower generations of women and children.

03 Exciting Milestone at Haven House Logan!

On June 3, we celebrated a significant milestone with a sod turning ceremony at Haven House Logan (the Logan Hub) in Queensland. This marks the beginning of construction on four purpose-built units designed to support at-risk young mums (aged 18-24) and their children.

The Property Industry Foundation has partnered with The Lady Musgrave Trust, with primary funding from the Queensland Government via the Housing Investment Fund, to make this project a reality. This transitional housing project will provide essential support to vulnerable young mothers and their children in Logan.

“The sod turning event is a significant milestone for our project team who have been working on this project for the past two years,” says Victoria Parker, CEO of The Lady Musgrave Trust. “The support of the Property Industry Foundation has been essential in getting the ball rolling on this project, providing an avenue for other industry partners to commit their time and expertise to get us to ‘shovel ready’ status.”
We were honored to have Sal Guardala, National Board Member and Chair of QLD Board of Advisors, attend the event alongside representatives from The Lady Musgrave Trust, the QLD State Government, and many members of the project team who have generously provided their pro bono time and expertise.

04 Building Hope at Haven House Logan

The Lady Musgrave Trust is creating transitional housing for vulnerable young mothers (aged 18-24) and their children in Logan. Haven House Logan (the Logan Housing Project) is progressing well, with the structure now out of the ground. This project will add four safe and secure self-contained units (totalling 9 bedrooms) in the Logan region, along with common spaces for learning and support activities.

This initiative aims to provide young local mothers that have experienced domestic and family violence with the stability and support they need to develop life skills and build brighter futures for themselves and their children.

We are proud to partner with The Lady Musgrave Trust on this transformative project, with support from the Queensland Government’s Housing Investment Fund, and thanks to all of our partners and supporters for helping to create more bedrooms for young people in need. Together, we are making a real difference.

05 Haven House Logan (Jinndii Waijung) Opened in March 2025

Jinndii Waijung is officially open!

We couldn’t be prouder to unveil Jinndii Waijung (Haven House Logan) in collaboration with Lady Musgrave Trust, with primary funding from the Queensland government via the Housing Investment Fund. Jinndii Waijung will provide up to 4,000 nights of safe transitional housing in a year for as many as 9 young mothers and their children at a time.

In the words of the Foundation’s QLD State Manager Antoinette Rusby-Perera, “Projects like these not only construct physical spaces of refuge but also provide essential support lifelines that empower vulnerable people, in this case, young mothers, to break the cycle of hardship.”
