Project Overview

The PIF House in Dulwich Hill was one of the first large refurbishments done by PIF in Sydney and was key in establishing the PIF House Program model where PIF fundraises but also solicits in-kind donations from the building industry. It’s a model that means PIF can build homes for homeless youth at a low cash cost.

Stepping Stone House welcomes in kids from disadvantaged backgrounds and provide them with specialist live-in care so that they can learn the daily routines of a normal household and either start employment or re-engage with school.

They are taught essential life skills such as cooking and budgeting. The charity’s aim is to counsel them through their challenging past and empower them to successfully enter mainstream society. There is ongoing support for ex-residents with a constant contact network enabling them to seek advice, in a crisis.
